Meet the Crew

Where to start. I cant remember much before Talitha, so lets just say this has been home for a while. I like sporty stuff, my dog, most of my family and playing about with cameras. I used to play the clarinet, sing in a choir, collect knives and not like girls. I look forward to welcoming you on board.

I'm from Kent, I'm way too tall, I actually qualify for disability allowance. I enjoy squeezing into really small cars so my knees interfere with the steering. I tried due diligence but it didn't work. I rowed the Atlantic and never take the T shirt off. I was offered the opportunity to write my own profile numerous times but couldn't be bothered. I hope I realise the error of my ways. I smell of wee.

I am a versatile and hands-on professional with experience in engineering, fabrication, welding, and education. I have developed strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills through working both at sea and in the classroom. I am resilient, adaptable, and committed to maintaining high standards, with expertise in planned maintenance systems and a strong work ethic.

“English with a stripe of Greek Cypriot, I’ve slogged my way up to Chief Officer on Talitha over the last 5 years. Made the questionable life choice of marrying the Purser — but I suppose someone had to take one for the team. I love marathons… and no, despite my physique, I don’t mean the Netflix kind. They say I’ve got talent with sports — probably because I only ever needed one ball to prove myself.

Born and bred Scottish with the ginger hair to prove it, I run on Irn-Bru and sarcasm in equal measure. I’ve been in the yachting industry for 10 years, with five of those spent onboard the legendary Talitha — all while being ironically terrified of drowning. Married the Chief Officer, Ruben, and successfully dragged him over to the winning team: Scotland, where the banter’s strong and the weather’s character-building.

I first joined the boat in 2017 and was lucky enough to return in 2024 — it’s a special boat with an even better crew. I’m originally from Zimbabwe and have been in the yachting industry for over 10 years. My cooking style leans toward the healthy side, but I love throwing in the occasional cheeky comfort meal — because sometimes you just need the mac and cheese. I’m all about good food made with heart, and I secretly (or not-so-secretly) love surprising the crew with sweet treats when no one’s expecting them. It’s the little things that keep everyone going — and a warm cookie never hurts.

Michaela—though most of the crew just call me Milk. A proud Swede, born and raised in Stockholm. Prior to joining - being totally grossed out by picking up my own dirty laundry with my bare hands to now happily clean toilets, real personal development, many might say! I’ve been on the team since October 2022 and, according to some, picked up a Scottish accent along the way—thanks, Jen! On my days off, you’ll find me hunting down the best restaurants in every port, usually with one (or two) Moscow Mules in hand.

Been here for a bit over a year now. Not all at once I do go home every now and then. From a farming background, mainly sheep, I’ll tell you more about it later. Italian is my favorite. Oh yeah I’m Irish. Vocabulary is limited.

Brummie born and bred, I’m basically the third captain. When people tell me otherwise, that’s when you hear the brummie come out. Hairline receding a rate of knots Talitha could never match. Did I mention I think I’m the captain? #whyyy

Marathon runner fuelled by rosè and gin, dog mom to Gus (the bestest boy), and sunshine worshiper (if you can’t find me, just look on Steel Beach) - I’m taking a break from my marketing career at New Balance to join the wild and wonderful crew on Talitha. Some say I’m a pint-sized princess… I’ll let you be the judge of that!

My Talitha peregrination began during the Barcelona Big Yard of ‘23/24. As the resident Chief Chat Officer (CCO), I consider it my duty to deliver a steady stream of mostly useless facts to the crew (and to wind Jake up, although that’s usually taken care of by breakfast). While my soporific storytelling has yet to be formally banned, I do occasionally dispense something vaguely nautical, which goes some way toward justifying my continued employment. As a long-term resident of Cabin 3, I have borne witness to many cummings and goings… some more regrettable than others.

Hi, I’m Morgan, I’m 21 and proudly South African — born and raised. I love anything that comes with a bit of adrenaline — surfing (which now happens about once a year if I’m lucky), dirt bike riding, or just exploring somewhere new. Since leaving school, I’ve been travelling and working on yachts, which has been the best way to see the world and meet people from everywhere. I joined yachting expecting to be surrounded by South Africans… but instead I somehow ended up with the opposite! At least I still get the adventure, the travel, and the ongoing challenge of figuring out how to pack lightly.

I’m half Swedish, half English, and fully convinced nepotism is a career path (cheers Mom, former Talitha purser) I highly recommend this approach, it’s kept me afloat for 3 years now. I also like cars and sometimes my girlfriend.

As the resident #queen of the boat, you’ll find me sashaying my way down the decks to facilitate all your needs. Having joined at the same time as Elliot, some may call me his yes man; others may go further.. When not on deck, I make the most of the Euro to Rand conversion by sampling all the rosé Europe can offer me, funded by Daddy back home of course.

Hi, I’m Joe, I’m 19 and a 1/2 and taller than the average China man. I like shooting big guns, reading feminist literature and being an undisputed grafter. I do not like shallow pools, grip strength or falling victim to Guy’s pranks (or do I)… By now I think I deserve the tile of ‘Vessel Stallion’. Long live Talitha!

Hi! My name is Caroline. People like to sing my name or just call me “The German.” Growing up in Hamburg, I was never a big fan of small talk, but it is a skill I have now mastered. According to Griz, I have no sense of humor, but I do have good taste in music. Pasta, passion fruit mojitos, Pilates, midday naps, running, skiing and dancing are what make me happy. You will find me at the Harbour Bar eight nights in a row, followed by me eating my healthy porridge the next morning. I love our nighttime giggles in cabin 5, as well as any activity that involves adrenaline!
